DHL has ordered 14 Boeing 777 freighters in a deal worth some $4.7 billion.

DHL has announced a $4.7 billion order for 14 Boeing 777 Freighters, with options to purchase an additional seven aircraft, as the logistics giant looks to expand its long-haul air freight capacity. The agreement was unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow and will significantly increase DHL’s global freighter fleet.

The investment reflects growing demand for international express and e-commerce logistics services, with cross-border online retail continuing to drive pressure on global supply chains. DHL said the new aircraft will improve operational efficiency, support network expansion and contribute towards the company’s long-term sustainability goals through the use of more fuel-efficient aircraft.

The Boeing 777 Freighter is one of the largest twin-engine cargo aircraft in operation and offers extended range capabilities for intercontinental freight routes. DHL noted that the fleet upgrade would help strengthen service reliability while supporting increasing customer demand for faster global delivery solutions.
